KISS' Peter Criss Going To Prison For 'Oz'

KISS drummer Peter Criss recently shed his band's trademark makeup and platform space boots in favor of a jailhouse jumpsuit. The rocker will guest star on the fifth season of the HBO prison series "Oz," the cable channel announced. Criss, who has already filmed two episodes and may do more, plays convict Martin Montgomery and will have beef with Dean Winters' character, Ryan O'Reily. Criss' last role in front of the camera was as himself in 1999's "Detroit Rock City." He previously had parts in "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park" and on an episode of the defunct TV series "Millennium." Criss joins a long line of musical performers that have walked the dismal halls of "Oz"'s main setting, the "Em City" unit of Oswald State Penitentiary. Last year, rappers Method Man, Lord Jamar and Master P all appeared on the show, and LL Cool J and Naughty by Nature's Treach have had brief roles on the series. Evan Seinfeld of hardcore rockers Biohazard has become a regular on the program as biker Jaz Hoyt. A spokesperson for HBO said the show's producers are still casting and hope to make more additions to cast before production wraps. New episodes are currently being filmed in Bayonne, New Jersey, and HBO said the fifth season of "Oz" will begin airing either later this year or early next year.
