Kelley didn't think she was right for the role, but he was so impressed by Liu's icy demeanor that he wrote the part of Ling specifically for her. Before joining Ally McBeal, Lucy had been a series regular on Pearl and guest-starred on shows such as ER and NYPD Blue. When she was in college at the University of Michigan, Lucy didn't aim to be an actress. It happened by accident. When she was a senior, Lucy auditioned for a role in a stage production of Alice in Wonderland just for the fun of it and wound up being cast as the lead. In addition to acting, Lucy is also an accomplished artist whose mixed-media photography has been shown in galleries in New York and Los Angeles. People have a tendancy to jump whenever she enters a room, her personality tends to be intimidating. Though her current boyfriend Fish doesn't seem to mind, even though she doesn't like sex, it seems men love the provocative way she has of saying the word. |
