Greg Germann

Greg Germann, who plays Richard Fish on Fox's "Ally McBeal" Working Nights: Usually Friday nights I'm working late, so the fun is at work. It's nonstop hilarity at "Ally McBeal." It's an amazing cast and amazing writing, and I end up looking forward to working. Getting Wet: I swim every day either in the Westwood community pool or in the ocean. I like Topanga Beach because the water is calm and I don't have to fight the waves. I could say I swim three to four miles a day, but the truth is it's really about a half-mile. At the Keyboard: I try to write on a daily basis. I just got my first play published. It's called "The Observatory," so I guess now I'm really a writer. Home Improvement: My wife, Christine Mourad, just had a baby and I recently finished building some furniture for the nursery, a toy chest actually. I went to the lumberyard and got the wood and then just sort of improvised. But I painted it and it looks really good. Catching a Set: My wife is a singer-songwriter. I guess it's really folk rock. Some nights she plays at Genghis Cohen on Fairfax and I'll watch her perform. She's also a really great cook, so often we have people over and she'll make soup or pasta. Out to Eat: We like to go to a place called El Nido on Main Street in Santa Monica. It's small but it has great authentic Italian food. We also like to go to La Fonda near MacArthur Park and listen to the mariachi band Los Camperos. They are the real thing."
