Women's Day USA is a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose goal is to raise awareness of women's achievements and struggles for equality by establishing and promoting observances and recognition of March 8th of every year as International Women's Day (IWD). The holiday was conceived to aid the international movement for women's suffrage and has been celebrated around the world for more than 80 years. Many developed countries celebrate IWD with special celebrations, activities for school children, flowers and tributes to women. The holiday has yet to receive significant attention here in the US.

For the past few years, Beata Pozniak, founder of Women's Day USA, has worked with local, state and federally elected officials to acquire national recognition of this important day. In 1994, Congresswoman Maxine Waters introduced and led to passage the first bill in the history of the US for national recognition of the March 8th holiday (HJ Res 316).
