| BANFF, Alberta (Variety) - Two hit U.S. TV shows were honored Monday with high-profile awards at the Banff Television Festival in Canada -- the offbeat Fox series ``Ally McBeal'' and the ABC police drama ``NYPD Blue.'' ``Ally McBeal'' walked off with the Banff Rockie Award for best comedy, while ``Blue'' took home the prize for best continuing series. David E. Kelly, executive producer of ``McBeal,'' also was present to receive the festival's 1999 Astral Award of Excellence for career achievement. Reuters/Variety |
