'The Justice Ball' to Rock The House of Blues in Third Annual Fundraiser For 'The House of Justice' - 7PM, Tuesday, August 3, 1999

LOS ANGELES, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Bet Tzedek Legal Services announced today that honorary Co-Chairs Camryn Manheim, of ``The Practice,'' and Peter MacNicol, Gil Bellows and Greg Germann, of ``Ally McBeal,'' will host ``The Justice Ball(TM),'' an evening of retro musical entertainment on Tuesday, August 3rd at the House of Blues, 8430 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood. This year, ``The Justice Ball(TM)'' will feature performances by the M-80's and The Boogie Knights, along with special guest Berlin, who will perform their hit singles ``Take My Breath Away,'' ``Sex,'' and ``Metro.'' Widely regarded as the hottest ``under 35'' summer fundraiser in town, the event will raise more than $250,000 to benefit Bet Tzedek, ``The House of Justice.'' Tickets are $75.

Bet Tzedek is a non-profit law center, representing indigent, elderly and disabled residents of L.A. County in matters of consumer fraud, nursing home abuse and neglect, home equity fraud, disability rights and slum housing. Bet Tzedek is non-sectarian and assists over 6,000 individuals and families each year, completely free of charge, with an enviable success record, winning over 90% of its contested cases.

``Last year at 'The Justice Ball(TM),' we had to peel people away from the dance floor at the end of the evening,'' said event Chair and Producer Randall Kaplan, ``It's going to be even better this year.'' Kaplan is the 30 year-old Co-Founder of Akamai Technologies, an Internet company with 150 employees. Kaplan's savvy use of networking and online communication has mobilized a cadre of leading young professionals to serve on the organizing committee.
