| (UltimateTV.com) - In what could be a taste of the Emmys, "The Sopranos" took home four major honors from the Television Critics Association, this weekend. The HBO mob drama was named program of the year, new program of the year and outstanding drama. The show's star James Gandolfini tied with David E. Kelley, creator of ABC's "The Practice" and Fox's "Ally McBeal," for individual achievement in drama. On the comedy side, ABC's "SportsNight" was honored as outstanding comedy, while Ray Romano of the CBS sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond" was honored for individual achievement in comedy. Romano is also nominated for an Emmy as outstanding actor. The CBS miniseries "Joan of Arc" was given the award for outstanding achievement in movies, miniseries and specials, while CNN's 24-part "The Cold War" was honored for outstanding achievement in news and information. Nickelodeon's "Blue's Clues" won for outstanding achievement in children's programming. |
