Emmy Awards presented for creative-arts categories

PASADENA, Calif. - NBC received a leading 12 Emmys in the creative-arts categories Saturday in an untelevised prelude to the Sept. 13 awards ceremony. It was followed by ABC and cable's HBO with eight each. Fox picked up six honors, while CBS and PBS received four each.

Emmys in the 28 major categories will be presented in two weeks at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The four-hour ceremony will be broadcast at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Saturday's ceremony will be shown in a one-hour edited version at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 on TV Land.
