Synopsis:

(From TV Guide)
JJ, tender ankle and all, arrives at Lehigh to begin football practice. And Roxanne, who's still on the outs with Meg, meets someone she has been on the outs with for eight years: her father. Meanwhile, Meg gets her learner's permit and wants Luke to teach her to drive. And the Girard Avenue store is about to open, but the timing could be better: riots in Harlem have prompted the Philadelphia police to consider a curfew for North Philly.

(From NBC)
OFF TO COLLEGE, JJ SETS OUT TO BE THE NEXT FOOTBALL PHENOM - As the summer slowly comes to a close, JJ (Will Estes) leaves for college to begin training for the upcoming football season. However, when his recently healed ankle begins to bother the star running back, the Lehigh coaching staff starts to question the abilities of their new player. Meanwhile, feuding friends Meg (Brittany Snow) and Roxanne (Vanessa Lengies) continue their silent summer, while Meg begins practicing her driving skills with the help of a skittish Luke (guest star Jamie Elman). Sam (Arlen Escarpeta) faces the harsh reality of the times when local police hassle him along with his cousin Nathan (guest star Keith Robinson) after a strict curfew is imposed in north Philly. Elsewhere, the reappearance of Roxanne's father (guest star Robert Cicchini) further complicates her life as he seeks to rekindle their father daughter bond. Tom Verica, Gail O'Grady, Jonathan Adams, Sarah Ramos, Rachel Boston and Ethan Dampf also star.
