Synopsis:

The Pryor and Walker families try to recover from the Philadelphia riots; JJ gets shipped off to Camp LeJeune; British Invasion coming to ``American Bandstand.'' Kelly Clarkson guest stars as Brenda Lee.

The series opens its second season with Brenda Lee (Kelly Clarkson) on “Bandstand” and JJ in the Marine Corps. But he comes home on leave (he's still in boot camp)---and has an eventful encounter with Beth (Rachel Boston). Meanwhile, Meg notices an edge to Sam (Arlen Escarpata) in the wake of the North Philly riots; Jack and Helen read about a painful and risky surgical procedure that could help Will; and a young British producer (Michael Rodgers) begins working with Michael Brooks on the “Bandstand” set.

KELLY CLARKSON GUEST STARS IN SEASON PREMIERE -- Kelly Clarkson guest stars as Brenda Lee in the second season opener of "American Dreams" which finds the Pryor and Walker families trying to recover from the Philadelphia riots. Meg (Brittany Snow) tries to understand her strained relationship with Sam (Arlen Escarpeta), while JJ (Will Estes) gets shipped off to Camp LeJeune and makes an important decision about his relationship with Beth (Rachel Boston). Jack (Tom Verica) and Helen (Gail O'Grady) conflict over a new treatment for Will (Ethan Dampf) that could help him walk again. "American Bandstand" gets ready for a British Invasion of it own when Michael Brooks (Joseph Lawrence) makes an announcement. Jonathan Adams, Vanessa Lengies and Sarah Ramos also star.
