Synopsis:

Meg and Sam get caught in the crossfire at an anti-war rally; Jack begins his campaign for city councilman; Viet Cong surround JJ and his squad.

In the second-season finale, Wyclef Jean impersonates Curtis Mayfield on “Bandstand,” while in Vietnam, JJ takes charge of his unit in the wake of the fragging incident, while Meg and Sam go to an antiwar protest at Penn, and Nathan tells his mother that he plans to resist the draft. Meanwhile, Beth's pregnancy might hinder Jack's nascent city-council bid; Patty goes on a “date” with Carl (Wes Robinson) to see “The Sound of Music,” which gives them both ideas; Helen meets her new colleague Donald's roommate, Russ (Larry Sullivan), then sees the two together in an unguarded moment; Luke (Jamie Elman) plans to emulate Jack Kerouac and hit the road; and Roxanne comes to a conclusion about boyfriends and girlfriends.

WYCLEF JEAN GUEST-STARS AS CURTIS MAYFIELD, ALEX BAND AND AARON KAMIN AS COLLEGE PROTEST SINGERS AND JACK FORD AS PROFESSOR POWERS - As the anti-war movement gains momentum, Meg (Brittany Snow) and Sam (Arlen Escarpeta) get caught in the crossfire at an anti-war rally and finds themselves taking a stand that may have severe consequences in their future. Jack (Tom Verica) also takes a stand on Beth (Rachel Boston) and her marital status as he begins his campaign for city councilman. Helen (Gail O'Grady) makes a shocking discovery at work and Patty (Sarah Ramos), disappointed with her first date, turns to Roxanne (Vanessa Lengies) for advice. Meanwhile, JJ (Will Estes) and his squad are surrounded by the Viet Cong and under heavy gunfire when they are told they will not be receiving backup and will be on their own. Wyclef Jean (formerly with The Fugees, "Killing Me Softly") guest-stars as Curtis Mayfield singing "Woman's Got Soul," Alex Band and Aaron Kamin of The Calling ( "Wherever You May Go" ) guest-stars as college protest singers, and Jack Ford ("Living It Up with Ali & Jack") guest-stars as Professor Powers. Jonathan Adams and Ethan Dampf also star.
