The competition is on when Bree meets Andrew's future mother-in-law for the first time, as each is determined to win over their son's affection; Gaby urges Carlos to accept a job which pays a six-figure salary even if it means spending more time away from home; Susan is feeling lonely while Jackson is away and turns to Lee for company; Lynette catches Preston speaking to his runaway twin on the phone; and Edie grows weary of Dave as he continues to exhibit some odd behavior.

(Recap From ABC)
Bree takes an instant dislike to Alex's mother, Melina; not only is she a beer-swilling, unemployed cocktail waitress, but she starts "calling" each holiday with Alex and Andrew. When Melina schemes to get Alex to move closer to her, Bree has no choice but to up the ante by announcing that she's bought the boys a house on Wisteria Lane.

Now that he has his vision back, Carlos quits his job as a masseur. Gabrielle happens to run into Bradley, an old colleague of his, who wants to hire Carlos at a six-figure salary. Carlos has landed his own job, however, working with the blind at the local community center. Gabrielle invites Bradley and his wife over to dinner, hoping to convince Carlos he should take the higher-paying job, but her plan backfires when Bradley's wife reveals she's so unhappy with their life that she wants a divorce. Carlos sums up his options to Gabrielle: "Either I do something fulfilling, where I help out other people and feel good about myself, or I take a job I hate where I make a lot of money but it eats my life and crushes my soul." She counters by saying, "Either you continue to let your family sacrifice so you can feel good about yourself, or you grow up and make real money, so you can look after us like we've been looking after you." He begs her not to make him do this, but calls Bradley and accepts the job anyway.

Susan overhears Lee and Bob arguing over how Bob doesn't have time to go clubbing with Lee. Since Jackson is away, Susan offers to go out with Lee. The night out ends on an unexpected note when the two of them wake up together the next morning. Susan has no idea whether they slept together, but panics when Bob wants to know if it's true that Lee slept over. Susan wonders if she acted subconsciously to sabotage her relationship with Jackson -- for whom she's just agreed to move to another town.

She goes to visit Lee to ask, "When you spent the night, did we get it on?" "Hello, gay! Listening to opera in a kimono!" he points out and assures her that nothing happened. However, he wants to know whether she loves Jackson. She admits she doesn't, yet, but that she's accepted that she and Mike will never get back together and she doesn't want to lose Jackson. Lee advises her to tell Jackson she's not ready, and that if she needs a man to dance with, he can be there for her.

Bob, who's acting as Porter's lawyer, learns why his client is so blank on the events of the night of the fire: It's not Porter, but Preston! Bob is legally obligated to report the truth, but gives Tom and Lynette two days to find Porter before they must forfeit bail and also their restaurant. Lynette discovers Preston talking to Porter and orders him to tell Porter to come home. Preston reveals the reason behind Porter's flight -- Mr. Schilling's threat to kill him -- and refuses to help his mother. "I'm not going to let my brother risk his life so you and dad can sell pizza!"

Lynette drives Preston to a local bar and swears that she's going to "do what I have to to make sure my family is safe," and that she'll kill Warren Schilling when he comes out of the bar. Preston yells, "Okay, I get it!" and agrees to tell Porter he doesn't have to worry about Warren. Preston gives her Porter's number, but he still refuses to come home, on his grandmother's advice!

Karen McCluskey and her sister Roberta travel to get the scoop on Dave from Dr. Heller, but the receptionist tells them that Dr. Heller is missing. Roberta decides it's a dead-end and walks out, and the two just miss hearing a call from a Dave who lives on Wisteria Lane, who's looking to refill his prescription.

When Dave refuses to go out dancing with her, Edie warns him, "I don't stay unhappy for long." In the middle of the night, she overhears him talking to someone, even though no one is there, and he swears that it was nothing. Edie demands an explanation or they're finished. Dave admits that before they met, he was married to someone else, who died, and that his late wife was "on my mind." Edie tells him, "You have until tonight to get your things together. Then I want you out of my house."
