In addition to Jessica Capshaw's current role on ABC's hit series "Grey's Anatomy," her past television credits include "The Practice," "The L Word" and "Bones." In 2005 Capshaw starred in the TNT miniseries "Into the West," with Keri Russell and Josh Brolin. Feature credits include "The Groomsmen," opposite Ed Burns and Brittany Murphy, "Minority Report," opposite Tom Cruise, and "The Love Letter," opposite Blythe Danner and Ellen Degeneres.
Capshaw earned her Bachelor of Arts in English literature at Brown University, where she also starred in many of the University's theatre productions. She took advantage of her summer breaks to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts Summer Program in London, where she starred as Puck in a production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Armed with an Ivy League education and insatiable ambition, she pursued her dream of becoming an actress.
Capshaw currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Christopher Gavigan, and their children, Luke, Eve and Poppy.
