THE GUARDIAN’s Alvin Masterson is the latest in a list of intriguing characters that Rosenberg has made his own. He possesses a certain affinity for the character, having been a politically active student of the ‘60s, and understands how Alvin "somehow lost his ideals along the way, but has a big heart and now is in the business of helping children … I can certainly relate to the character’s reason for being where he is." Rosenberg is perhaps best known to TV audiences for his role as Cybill’s ex-husband, Ira Woodbine, in the sitcom "Cybill," as well as regular roles in "Chicago Hope," "L.A. Law" and "Civil Wars." He has also appeared in numerous television movies and mini-series, and earned an Emmy nomination for a guest-starring role in "E.R." Equally accomplished as a stage actor, Rosenberg has performed in Broadway productions of "What’s Wrong with This Picture," and the Neil Simon play "Lost in Yonkers."
