(Recap From ABC)
Addison helps Maya break the news of her pregnancy to her parents. It doesn’t go well. Sam is freaked and Naomi loses it. She demands that Addison give Maya an abortion. It’s all just so un-Naomi-like. But judging by how she lashes out at Addison and Violet, we’re pretty sure she’s not really herself.

Sam wants to talk about it, but Naomi has completely shut down. Later, Maya catches a glimpse of Dell’s patient, Lynn, who wants a natural childbirth. After seeing how much pain Lynn is in, Maya tells her parents she’ll have the abortion.

When Addison takes Maya away for the procedure, Sam and Naomi finally talk. She feels as though she failed as a mother. Back in the exam room, Maya and Addison have a heart-to-heart chat. Maya doesn’t understand how her mom can do such an about-face regarding her views on abortion. Addison tells Maya that the only person’s views that matter right now are hers. She should do what she thinks is best.

Maya comes out to say that she’s not having the abortion. Naomi flips out. She drags Maya into the room where Dell is helping Lynn through the final stages of her very painful labor. She says, “I am not going to let you ruin your life, little girl. You think you know what you want. You have no idea. You have no idea what you want Look at that!” Then the baby is born and Maya smiles and says, “But look at that.”

Dr. Fife skirted a few laws to bolt a mechanical arm into the nervous system of a war vet named Colin. Now the arm is infected and Pete wants to remove the bolt, as it’s the source of the infection. That means Colin will lose his arm. Fife goes behind Pete’s back to prescribe some experimental antibiotics. One of the side effects is nerve damage, which Colin seems to be experiencing.

Pete has to step in when things go south for Colin. He wants the bolt to come out, but Fife won’t budge. He wants Pete to help him save the arm so that Colin can hold his bride when they dance on their wedding day. Just as Fife is telling Colin that they’ll now have to remove the rest of his arm possibly up to his shoulder, Pete comes in with another option. They can surgically implant antibiotics around the bolt area. It’s risky, but it could give Colin a chance at that wedding dance.

Violet keeps getting baby samples from St. Ambrose and she wants it to stop. When she goes to the hospital to complain, she meets a distraught man, Nathan, who just lost his wife. Nathan mistakenly thinks that Violet lost her baby and she doesn’t correct him. It just seems easier for Nathan to talk to someone with whom he believes has also been dealt a tragedy. He doesn’t want to walk out of the hospital alone. Violet says he won’t be alone. She’ll go with him. When they get to Nathan’s house, Violet finally confesses that she didn’t lose her son. She walked away from him.

Cooper thinks Charlotte should leave the practice. Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. This may go down as one of the ugliest breakups between a pediatrician and a sexologist ever! Charlotte moves all of her stuff into her office, as she sold her place once she moved in with Cooper. Looks like she really did go “all in” for their relationship. Violet offers to let Charlotte crash with her as long as she promises to make some martinis.

Sam confronts the baby’s father, Dink, who didn’t know Maya was pregnant. Dink is stunned but says he loves Maya. Naomi still can’t handle any of this. She finally breaks down in tears and finds an unlikely source of comfort: Dr. Fife. Later, Sam and Addison chat about all that has happened. Sam seems to be at least a little at peace with the one thing that didn’t happen.
