(Recap From ABC)
When we last saw Pete Wilder, he was on the floor clutching his chest in severe pain. Pete desperately tries to grab for the phone, but it remains just out of reach. When Sam is summoned to the hospital, we fear the worst as his unseen patient dies on the table. The good news is that it's not Pete. The bad news is that nobody knows he's having a massive heart attack at home as his frightened son looks on from across the room.

When Cooper finds out Violet left for New York, he heads over to cheer up Pete. There's no answer at the door as Lucas cries from inside. Coop finds Pete unconscious on the floor and Lucas hiding under a table. They arrive at the hospital where Sam uses the paddles to start Pete's heart. Cooper isn't clear when this happens, so he's jolted into the wall. He'll be fine, just a little tingly for a bit. Pete's fate, however, remains unknown.

Amelia isn't letting the fact that her surgical privileges at St. Ambrose have been revoked get her down. She's drinking big time and getting into bar fights. Well, it's not really much of a fight when you topple off a bar and cut open your hand. Amelia calls Sheldon for a ride. She kisses him, though it's not for seduction purposes. Amelia simply wants Sheldon to stop lecturing long enough to cruise her to the hospital for stitches.

Amelia doesn't want to cross paths with Charlotte, so she sutures her own hand as a squeamish Sheldon does his best to help. A short time later, the two of them get the scoop about Pete, who is also having neurological complications. Amelia wants to fix Pete's brain while Sam works the heart. With time of the essence, Charlotte has no choice but to let her do just that.

Violet's flight is delayed and the battery on her cell phone is dead. She strikes up a conversation with Joanna, a woman who is having marital issues. Some of what this lady says echoes Violet's situation. The one thing that's way different is the fact that Joanna's husband hit her. As Violet's flight delay ends, she pleads with Joanna to not take the plane ride home with her husband. The conversation ends abruptly when Violet finally gets the news about Pete and rushes out of the airport.

Sam does a quadruple bypass as Amelia fixes Pete's brain bleed. The patient crashes just as Violet arrives. The team does their best to save their friend as his wife looks on helplessly. Pete pulls through, but he's a little loopy during recovery. Violet reminds him of how she left. Pete says, "I'm okay, you're okay and Lucas is okay and that's all that matters, right?" He also can't stop telling Violet how beautiful she is.

Amelia's riding high after saving Pete, but Charlotte is not reinstating her surgical privileges until she gets her sobriety in check. In other news, Cooper is mad at Violet for leaving… again! She knows he's right to be mad, so Coop quickly forgives her. Violet gets more good news when Joanna calls to let her know she didn't get on the plane.

Addison and Sam are together again, as their colleagues quickly deduce. Naomi is gone, as is the handsome pineapple guy Addy almost ran off with even though she never even knew his name. So, AddiSam should have a clear run at making things work this time around, right? Of course, Addison still wants a baby even if Sam isn't the father.

Addison makes an appointment with the top fertility specialist in town. Now, remember how we said handsome pineapple guy was history? Well, that's not exactly true. We now know the man's name is Jake Reilly (Benjamin Bratt). Make that Dr. Jake Reilly, Addison Montgomery's brand new fertility doctor. He promises that he's the man who is going to give her a baby. How's that for a juicy little twist?
