(Recap From ABC)
Addison meets Ryan, the guy Amelia has been getting wasted with on a regular basis. Cooper suspects something is up after running into Amelia on the street. The word "taco" becomes code for drugs as the team chats about her situation with Mason in the room. There was really no need for the ruse. Mason says he thought Amelia looked like a druggie when he met her.

Amelia bolts out of her place when Addy tries to have a talk with her. She shacks up with Ryan in a hotel room, but must break into the office to snag a prescription pad when they run out of pills. The police catch her rummaging through a desk. Charlotte vouches for her friend, but she can't stop an out-of-control Amelia from running off with her prescription pad.

Everyone is worried about Amelia, especially Sheldon. There's good reason for concern. Ryan seems to have all sorts of ways of escalating her drug use. Amelia is truly shaken when she wakes up to a room full of strangers. These drugged-out losers have been taking full advantage of the lady with the prescription pad. Ryan boots everyone out, but only so he can get Amelia high again. This guy is bad news and Amelia is in bad shape.

Jake's patient, Shannon, was in an accident that has left her brain dead. The 16-week-old fetus she's carrying is still alive. Shannon is an organ donor and Sam has a patient who can use her heart. But Jake knows that having a baby was Shannon's dream. He has 24 hours to find her estranged husband before hospital protocol calls for them to pull the plug.

Jake is less than thrilled with Sam when he calls him in to meet the woman who needs his patient's heart. Later, he takes extreme measures to keep his patient breathing. When Shannon's husband arrives, Sam gives him the scoop on the condition of his wife and the baby. Jake offers a slightly different version. Addison makes them both realize that the decision of what to do with Shannon belongs solely to her husband.

Jake has a heart-to-heart with the husband. He lays out all the facts in the most unbiased of ways. He also assures the guy that he'll support his decision, but it does have to be "his" decision. Ultimately, the husband lets his wife go. This case wasn't easy for Jake, but he assures Addy that all is well as they press on with an attempt to fertilize her eggs.

Violet needs Sheldon to supervise her sessions in order to get her license back. He's not going to go easy on her. In fact, Sheldon provides Violet with four pages of notes after her first session. Pete asks him to ease up on his wife. Later, Sheldon apologizes to Violet, who knows Pete went to bat for her. The fact that the two of them after able to sit together to watch a little TV at the end of the day is a big step in repairing their relationship.

Erica makes no secret of the fact that she does not want her son around Charlotte. She freaks a bit when she catches the two of them playing a video game together. Erica makes a hasty exit with Mason. This has Charlotte wondering if this lady will ever let her off the hook. She will. Erica eventually realizes that Charlotte's check offer was just her way of protecting Cooper. She's just as protective of Mason. Guess Charlotte is no longer off limits.
