When a patient's partner and father are heatedly divided on his health care, Pete makes a decision that impacts everyone, including himself; meanwhile, Jake offers strength and experience to Amelia when he suspects she's being tempted to substance abuse, Sheldon and Violet treat a family concerned about the father's new sexual appetite, and as baby Henry draws Addison and Sam closer, they struggle to define their relationship.

(Recap From ABC)
Amelia has been sober for 8 months. She knows this because that's how long it's been since she's been pregnant. Sheldon is back from the honeymoon vacation he shared with his ex-wife. He has no idea about the situation with Amelia, who doesn't want to hear him say "I'm sorry." Sheldon tries to get info from Jake, who won't say a word. Speaking of Jake, he's concerned Amelia may be planning a slip in her sobriety. If she uses drugs, her baby won't be a viable donor.

Amelia initially freezes out Sheldon. We say, initially, because she later tries to get him to have sex with her. She wants a moment of escape from all that's happening to her. To help Amelia deal with her current urge to use, Jake tells her the story about how he found his wife dead of an overdose on the bathroom floor. He wanted to die, too. But he chose to stay alive for his daughter. Amelia can also choose to live. If she doesn't, everyone who loves her will feel like dying, too.

Pete and Sam treat Troy, a man in heart failure who had told his partner, Roger, he didn't want to be kept alive by machines. Too bad the man's bigoted, headstrong father has the final say on such matters. He wants his son to be kept alive by any means necessary. Roger knows that Troy wouldn't want what's happening to him. He pleads his case to Pete, who legally can't do anything to help. That's why he secretly lets Roger say one final goodbye to his partner before taking Troy off the ventilator.

Violet wants to sell her house. Pete's cool with that. Actually, he's icy. At least, that would describe his distant demeanor anytime his wife tries to initiate a conversation. That's not going stop Violet from fighting for him and her family. She states this in a fairly eloquent rant to Cooper. Violet makes yet another attempt to talk to Pete. Their conversation is interrupted by Charlotte, who is livid that Pete took a patient off life support without consent. A few moments later, the police step into the room to place Pete under arrest for murder.

Rich is a patient who has been having impure thoughts about his daughter, Whitney. Amelia believes the patient's inability to control his impulses is related to a lesion on his brain. She can remove it. This would hopefully return him to the good husband and father he'd always been. After the operation, Rich vows to his daughter that he will spend the rest of his days trying to earn back her trust. Violet will be there to help Whitney deal with this as Sheldon continues to work with her dad.

Jake has been having trouble dealing with the fact that Sam has been stepping up on the baby front to help out with Henry. He's also been opening up emotionally to Addy, who doesn't want him to tease her. As for Jake, he's not used to coworkers being so emotionally invested in each other. He gets it with this place though and he's fine with it. We're assuming that he's also fine with the fact that Addison takes a seat on his lap to give him a long, passionate kiss.
