Fan Response (So Far)

  • The day that they took another world off the air was the saddest day of my life, I watched another world from may 4th 1964, I got my daughters watching the soap, like I said it was a sad day, I was thinking about another world and decided to check the internet and see if the soap was coming out on DVD, was I ever surprised to find that it was coming back on, is it going to come back to TV, and if it is what channel, day and time.- Sincerely Elizabeth Denson

  • Another world was one of my favorite shows, in my younger years (8 to 16) years old, I especially liked it back in the late 70's, my wife also loved the show. as we look back at all the characters on the internet, it brings back so many memories, our favorite seems to be when Sven chopped up Rocky and hid his body under the floor boards of the boat house. Thanks for all the memories. - Donald and Agnes
  • Leslie Longclaws (Waywayseecappo, MB CA) - I really do miss Another World and enjoyed watching the show as I grew up. There was so much storylines that interested me, especially when the dual roles came out with Ellen Wheeler, Anne Heche and Jenson Buchanan. The first two were my favorite to watch ....no offense, Jenson but you were great too! I don't know if they will ever bring back Another World with the CORY'S, LOVE'S,and the McKINNON'S.But if they need a new title.....how about "Back to Bay City". It sure would be alot better than the show they replace it with.."Passion". I thought that show would have been good but it was so science fiction. When can someone make this show happen and tell NBC?

  • What Another World means to me is keeping my memories alive of my mother and I watching the soap opera together. I miss my mother, and I miss my Another World. I am thankful to see soapnet has Another World back. My favorite is Mac Cory making a toast.
    Thank you,
    Lucy

  • I watched Another World avidly, I felt like I grew up in Bay City. It was a rich, lustrous daytime serial that was well written, well acted and had great storylines and great characters. Douglas Watson and Victoria Wyndham were a great pair as Rachel and Mac Cory. No one has ever rivaled the scene chewing of Beverly McKinsee as Iris Cory Carrington Wheeler. And Donna Love was a society matron extraordinaire. And don't forget Linda Dano as Felicia Gallant or Steven Schnetzer as Cass Winthrop. It was such a shame NBC cancelled it in 1999. Although the characters were getting tired, and the writing was really bad, and the Cory mansion changed and got small and cheap looking. It is sorely missed when there are such awful soaps out there like Passions.-BaileySEA3

  • I watched Another World nearly the whole 30 some odd years it was on television. It was a tragedy when the removed it. The actors were the best and the stories were terrific. Now I am enjoying the again on Soap Net. But I feel like NBC betrayed all of the Another World fans. I miss the actors like I would my own family. Shirley McDougald (69 yrs. old)

  • I miss Another World more than anyone else will ever know. I grew up watching this great show. I miss it for the colourful characters, the excellent storylines, and durability on the air. When it went off the air, I couldn't and wouldn't watch another NBC soap opera again. To this day, I won't.Thankfully, Soap Net has reruns for me watch and recall various moments of my life, and continue to treasure the memory of Another World.- Ed Hudson- Buffalo, NY USA

  • My name is angie and i used to watch another world as a kid, up until it was taken off the air, I loved it and in my opinion no other soap opera on television today is any where near as great as Antoher World was.

  • Another World meant the world to me. It showed me that I wasn't the only one feeling the way I feel Paulina did also.I didn't feel alone,I miss her.- Victoria

  • It's a chance to sit back, eat lunch on the couch and have a nice time viewing the only soap i still like.- Peggy O.

  • I thought Another World was the Best Soap Opera that was every written. I just really loved the story plots. And amazingly fell in love with all the cast and members on the show. I cried like a baby when they took it off the air. The story line they working on for moment was so interesting. I was glued to the t.v. when it came on. But for some stupid reason they decided to take it off.. Why I dont know and dont care just want them to put it back on and leave off right where they left off at. This would just totally be awsome. I would really be happy to see it come back to life. My favorite actors were , Rachael , Carl, Vikki , Jake and many many more they were just at the top of my list. sincerly a fan that trully misses Another World...... -Marie

  • It is hard to answer, but I began watching in 1965, after school , with my mother. It was on in the afternoons, late afternoon, where I lived in Ky.....We would have homemade cookies and milk...and it was like sharing a family together..... They, AW, became like a family to me over the years...In college, I did not get to watch all the time, (no VCR's then), but I kept up, then with work, I was able to schedule allot of lunch periods around them.... I remember on one very lonely July 4th, I went to the picnic/fireworks in Bay City, with many of my old friend, and many new ones there also.....My daughter had began to watch with me...and that was fun....I was so very very upset when I found out that my favorite TV family was being taken off...I pined as though it was truly a loss and it was,,,,part of my life for many years...I have very little left of my mom, but that connected my memories of her to me every time I watched...I really do believe that it was the Best Soap on TV, actually the only one I always watched...when I see one of the actors on another show or soap, I am so excited and saddened. I don't know all the politics behind the loss but it is still hard for me , even today....God Bless the founders of AW.... They gave my continuity when I most needed .- Dianne

  • I rarely watch anything on NBC because it doesn't pay to become attached. NBC has poor taste. I watch ANOTHER WORLD since 1971 and felt that the characters were like neighbors and good friends. Most of all, I always had a good feeling while watching it. People evolved and matured and grew into wonderful people. There was very little (meanness) as there is on so many soaps. I do follow any soap that has one of AW characters. I look forward to seeing Jake on ATWT. He is the same great guy. He evolved from a brat to a real loving person. I am hoping that SOAP NET will eventually bring back AW & Santa Barbara as it has Ryan's Hope, etc.

  • Another World meant so much to me over the past decade. Another World was the type of Soap Opera like no other, with class, dignity & uniqueness. It did not go for trashy subjects or way out storylines ~ Bay City was down to earth & that is why I liked it so much! I could actually relate with the characters, instead of feeling like the characters were doing things which were totally unbelievable. Also, Another World was the kind of soap opera, which made you tune in everyday. No SOAP OPERA & I mean none today, even peaks my interest like Another World did. So, AW I commend you on this!!!!! You were surperb! It was a disguist to see another soap (which is awful replace AW) but some things can not be stopped. I loved it while it lasted & still have many memories stored in my brain as well as on tapes!!!

I was so interested in the soap opera, I went to their AW fan club luncheon in 98, and got many signatures from stars. The cast & crew was great ~ so down to earth!!!! I loved them all~ especially Joe Barbara.

AW was great! There will never be a soap opera like it EVER!!!! And probably I will never watch another soap opera (seriously) again.

  • I am 39 years old and watched AW for most of the 35 years it was on TV. When I was beginning High School, I saved money to buy my first VCR so that I could tape DOOL & AW. At that time, VCR's cost about $800.00. TPTB never did give credit to people who could not watch during the day but taped the shows and religiously watched. There were times when I just taped AW because I felt DOOL became ridiculous. (I still think it is ridiculous.) Through the years on occasion I would watch other shows (Edge of Night, Young & the Restless) but AW was always my favorite. I still think that they had the best actors/actresses on daytime television!

I ALWAYS loved the stories on AW and felt that the characters were part of my family. Cass and Felicia's friendship made me laugh and cry. I was happy when Cass and Lila fell in love and was so happy when "Ann" (who looked just like our beloved Frankie) showed up. I would have loved to see that triangle fully develop! Rachel was the core of the show and withstood the test of time. I cried when she lost her mother and when Mac died. I was mesmerized when she fell in love with the enemy, Carl. Ryan and Vickie. WOW. Enough said. I loved Vickie's kids. I thought the boy who played Stephen was the best child actor I had ever seen. Jake was, well, what can I say - I LOVE JAKE. He was just so loveable and he truly loved Vickie. He was a great stepdad to Vickie's kids. I loved Jamie Frame many years ago when Richard Bekins played Jamie. To this day I thought he was the best Jamie. That was during the time when Jamie wrote the book about the residents of Bay City. Cass and Frankie. Another WOW. I loved Frankie and was devastated when she was murdered. IMNSHO, that was the beginning of the end for the show. To murder a beloved charactor so viciously was cruel and clearly the work of someone who didn't care about the show or its fans.

I have not watched any soaps since AW went off the air. I cannot imagine watching only one of my favorite characters on other shows where the history of the character is lost. If more characters were brought to ATWT with an emphasis on those characters and their history, then I might watch. But for me, AW was the only class act on daytime TV. I still hope someone will wake up and realize what a mistake they made.

I am grateful for the 35 years that I had to watch this wonderful show and I truly miss checking in with my friends Cass, Felicia, Lila, Amanda, Vickie, Jake, Rachel, Carl, Paulina, Joe and all the other residents of Bay City. I will always remember all of them with fondness.

  • I watched "ANOTHER WORLD" for almost 17 years and I was DEVASTATED when NBC pulled the plug, but not surprised since they had been trying to get rid of it for the last 10 years. I now have switched to "AS THE WORLD TURNS" since Jake from AW has relocated to ATWT's Oakdale. I've watched ATWT since June 28,1999 after AW last aired. I still miss AW and loved it when AW's Cass and Donna recently paid a visit to ATWT's Jake!! Hopefully, TPTB at ATWT will bring more of my Bay City pals to Oakdale permanently!! I still want AW back in some form because it was and is still a class act!!

  • I've lost a dear friend since Another World went off the air. I first started watching it in 1980 when I was recuperating from surgery. Shortly after that I was felled with a heart attack so my world changed drastically, and for one hour a day, I could lose myself in someone else's world. The story lines always intrigued, yet the escapades of Felicia and Cass just got funnier -- never slapstick -- just funnier, and Rachel showed how a character could grow into such a dignified and wise yet ageless lady. When I regained my health, I continued to watch every day, and once I was back to work and we had a VCR, I looked forward to that hour just before bedtime with my friends in AW. I never watched another soap. Now I don't watch any. The news of efforts to put AW characters on other shows seems demeaning to me, except for Linda Dano. She came out of AW's demise a winner. If AW comes back, and I hope it will, I will be its faithful fan again. If not, there will be no more soaps for me. Now I watch the Prime channel and see the Golden Girls before I drop off to sleep.

  • Another World was a family to me for thirty-five years. My mother-in-law started me watching and then my daughter watched and then a grand-daughter.

So, now you must realize what a severe loss this show was to all our family! We felt there should have been a state funeral after losing so many relatives all at once!

I will never understand the "so-called" powers-that-be at NBC. Since my family was annihilated, I have not watched NBC nor bought any Proctor & Gamble products. This took great will-power on my part as NBC was the only television network that I watched. Now I simply don't watch television at all!

I still keep waiting for the show to come back. It's like it's been pre-empted until the REAL brilliant heads of state understand what they have done.

  • the show was like part of my family, when it ended that's when it hit me how much the show was part of my life.when i found out it was being canceled it felt like alot of people that i was close to went in a plane and then i was told it crashed.i will miss the show and think of it always.it's a comfort to watch jake on as the world turns.i don't watch much t.v. am a working mom of three.but i always watched another world.i miss all the characters,i didn't have a favorite.i wish all the actors well good luck in thier future careers.

  • I watched Another World for over 20 years. I have never missed a show so much as I do AW. The actors and actresses are the best. It has always been a mystery to me why this show was not recognized in the Soap Opera Digest and Daytime Emmy Awards. AW had excellent casting for all of the categories. I always search the other soaps to see where all of you are now. YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. If Santa Barbara can be petitioned to come back why not ANOTHER WORLD. It had more substance than Santa Barbara will ever have.

  • I REALLY MISS ANOTHER WORLD MORE THAN ANY BODY CAN UNDERSTAND!!! I HAVE WATCHED IT EVER SINCE I WAS SIX OR SEVEN AND I WAS 14 WHEN IT WAS TAKEN OFF THE AIR!!!! I COULDN'T WAIT TILL I GOT HOME EVERY EVENING FROM SCHOOL AND LET MY VCR REWIND 3 HOURS TO WATCH IT ALONG WITH SUNSET BEACH AND DAYS OF OUR LIVES, BUT IT BASICALLY STAYED ON FAST FORWARD FOR THE FIRST TWO SHOWS, BECAUSE I COULDN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN THAT DAY ON ANOTHER WORLD. IT GAVE ME SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO EVERY DAY AND I NEVER MISSED AND EPISODE. WHEN I HEARD THAT THEY WERE THINKING OF TAKING IT OFF THE AIR I STARTED RECORDING EPISODES AND CLIPS OVER ONTO BLANK TAPES SO THAT I COULD WATCH THEM WHEN THEY TOOK IT OFF AND NOW WHEN I MISS IT I TAKE OUT MY TAPES AND I WATCH THEM. I KNOW THAT ALL THE PEOPLE THAT IS READING THIS PROBABLY THINKS THAT I'M CRAZY AND OBSESSED, WHICH IS PROBABLY PARTLY TRUE WHEN IT CAME TO ANOTHER WORLD.

HAS ANY ONE STARTED WATCHING PASSIONS, IF YOU DID YOU WILL PROBABLY AGREE THAT IT REALLY REALLY REALLY SUCKS. IT IS SO BORING THAT I KNOW GET AN HOURS NAP.

I WILL NEVER FORGET THE CHARACTERS AND I WISH THEM ALL THE BEST OF LUCK IN THE FUTURE. I ALSO THANK THEM FOR ALL THE GREAT MEMORIES, TEARS, AND LAUGHS.

    -T. Blankenship

  • I wanna thank ''another world'' for bringing me this show, for 9 years, i never missed one show and now i'm going to miss you all, you entertained me and my baby boy for years and i wanna thank you for that, i now will never watch any other show, there is no other show like ''another world'' there will never be. in my book ''aw'' is # 1.To ''Rachel Cory"" you will be missed and to the ''aw'' family,THANK YOU FOR BRINGING US THIS SHOW. So to NBC you people SUCK!!!!!!!!!!
    another world's # 1 fan.

  • Another world was one of the greatest soap opera's ever....The actors/actress were wonderful and very talented...the show itself was very realistic...unlike passions...I can't believe NBC would cancel Another world to start airing the most stuiped show ever...I am very dissapointed I thought NBC was smarter than that but I guess not, so I turned to ABC which had the best soap operas with the best actors......I hope one day someone would be smart and would get all the actors back and start airing Another world again....

  • I know change is good, but for 25 years Another world was great. I will miss it so much. Passions will never do what Another world did. To the cast thank-you you will be missed

  • Another World has meant alot to me. It was the first soap that I watched with my mom. I hope that now with sunset Beach cancelled, they will put it back on.

  • I watched Another World for at least 30 years, I was a little girl when I had started watching. I just couldn't believe that they ended it. I made up my mind never again to watch a NBC soap again. Thank you for letting me air my point. Susan Hillery

  • I have been with the show since it started, living in places where it was on the only tv station that we could receive. I have gone into a type of mourning by missing these people who have been a part of my life for so long. I want it back. The other shows are for teen-agers but they don't support the whole world. Won't someone wake up????

  • I only watched AU for a little over a year, but once I saw it I was hooked! It's been 3 months since the show went off the air and it is very sad. Sad because an entire company of fine actors the BEST on daytime tv- lost their jobs as well as the crew who helped put their stories together every day.

My favorite shoreline was the one between Cameron and Amanda, because Sandra Freemason and Michael Rodrick made it all seem believable. Their work inspired me to always do the best I can, no matter what the odds are.

Thank you, to all the actors, for doing their best to bring us the BEST!!! WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!!!!

  • Hi, I have really missed AW. I wish some network would get it going again. I don't see how they can take a show that may not be in the lead, but has managed to stay on the air for 35 years. And it has become more & more evident since it was removed that it had a lot of loyal followers. I can understand trying new things, I just don't think it is necessary to do away with the old at the same time. There are plenty of talk shows that aren't up to par that could have been removed. I didn't start watching AW until 6 years ago when I became disabled and unable to get out and do the things I did before. It has been a friend to me when I really needed it, and I feel that I have lost a friend. I wish someone would become aware of just how many of us miss it and put it back on. I have signed every petition, written letters, acted on every possible means & levels that I have been able to learn about via the Internet. I can only hope that some one is listening and cares.
    Love, CB, clynn82@bellsouth.net

  • aw was a great show ive enjoyed it for years . the people became family they really got people involved with there lives an took there minds off there troubles .i really miss the show alot. it really started getting interesting also any way ya could get it started back .i really miss them guys.and i really cant get into that passion show.tell all i said hi and i miss them. love mary ann mcglone

  • I taped another world everyday for the last year so that when i came home from 9th grade everyday i could escape in time with my second family. Now that it is off i watch the tape of the last eposode at least once a week. I also have a huge collection of another world pictures on my wall with the biggest vicky section. I really miss the show so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have watched Another since I was 7 years old .I came in after school and finish watching it with my mother. that was when .Aida and hubby gil the policeman and Nancy was a baby. So I practically grew up the soap.It was very emotional for me to watch the last show.Often when I think about it,it's still emotional. No other soap will takes its place.
    thanks,

  • To me,AW meant entertainment. Relaxing for an hour in the afternoon. I watched AW for 30+ years. I just could not believe it when I heard it was being cancelled. I will not watct Passions because it replaced AW. It can never take the place of AW. People in chat rooms ao the internet feel the same way.
    Thank You Mrs. J.Barnes

  • AW was like family to me. I have lived with them for years. They have followed me throughout my moves in life and I will miss them dearly. I will not follow the new show as I am not so much into new "confusing" storylines. I am sorry that AW had to be taken off the network. Sometimes what is perceived as progress really isn't.

  • Well it's been a month since the last show and I really miss AW. I've been watching ATWT to see the AW characters but just those few shows immediately following AW's demise have had our shows characters on. Don't seem to care about these characters as much since I don't know their histories. I watch YR and that's about it. I absolutely will not watch Passions. I used to look at DAYS but since ATWT is on at the same time in my time zone I'm not as interested anymore. I want AW to come back on CBS. But I'm sure the chances are nil. No show has the heart that AW had or the humor. So, after watching AW for many years and loving each moment, through the horrible years and the great years. NBC has lost me as a viewer.

  • they were my family, I watched the show for 32 yrs. Their pain was mine and so was their happiness. I don't watch any of the others anymore. I knew Doug Watson, & mourned him With the cast. WHY WHY WHY did you discontinue the show?
    I misss it terribly!

  • I have been watching AW since it started. It meant kicking off my shoes and relaxing in Another World of life. I could remember when it was l-l/2 hrs long - that was the utimate to me. I never became involved in another soap, so a good part of me left withAW. I thought the acting was great and it just became part of my life.

  • I will surley miss "Another World"!!!!!! It has been a part of my adult life since I first got married in the late 60"s. I've always thought and felt that the acting on this seriers was WAY ABOVE THE REST!!!!! The talent from this show always would show up on other nightly shows and/or movies. There passion and feelings were so "REAL". I will never get over the expodes with "Wally" and Felicia and Casse. They were so funny and at a time in my life when I really needed to laugh. When Wally passed away---I felt as tho I had lost an old friend----I felt the lose also from Felicia and Casse. I also enjoyed these struggles between Jake and Vicky and Carla, especially in the time when Carla was sooooo bad and evil. I hope he goes on to do more movies. I still don't understand the reason why "THIS" soap had to be removed------it truely never got the recognition that it truely deserved. I'm glad it was a part of my life, I even used one of the wedding ceremonies for my own first wedding. I know that all these fine actors and actresses will go on to even bigger and better things in their lives because they are truely some of today's best artists!!!!

Good Luck and Good Bless everyone at Another World. Thanks for the years and years of entertainment!!!!!!!!

  • I have watched Another World since I was a small child, and it has become as family to me. Though it is now gone, it will always live in my heart.

  • NBC the biggest mistake you ever did was to take Another World off the air and I know it's not a nice thing to say but I hope your ratings take a dive!

  • I can't believe that AW is going off the air. I work an 8-5 job and haven't missed taping for one day. I love that soap. It was the only soap that I would watch and tape. I love all the characters! I will miss them all very much....I hope that the management reads these emails and decide to put it back on. It was a wonderful soap and so many people will miss it.

Goodbye to all the characters, Cass, Lila, Matt, Josie, Gary, Camron, Amanda, Cindy, Paulina, Joe, Nick, Remmie, Vickie, Jake, Marly, Kirkland, Steven, the twins that weren't born, Donna, Tyrone, Chris, Edda May, Toni, Rachel, Felicia, Karl. You all will be missed very much!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for adding a little enjoyment into my life...I will miss seeing your faces and wish you all success for the future.

    Loyal Fan, Jane

  • This is the one show I really hate to see go, I have watched it since I was a child my Mother watched it from the first show ever and of course I grew up watching it as a child I spent my summers in front of the TV watching "Days of our lives and Another World ". And when I had to go to school my mother would always give me an update as to what was going on with the show. And after I married and had children I raised my children watching AW, so if NBC thinks they were missing the younger generation I think they are very confused my children are 15, 13 and 11 , 2 of which are boys and they also watched the show every day I would tape it so they could watch after school and me after work ....... SO TO NBC I WOULD LIKE TO SAY YOU HAVE LOST YOUR YOUNGER GENERATION BECAUSE MOST OF THEM GREW UP WATCHING "ANOTHER WORLD "!!!

There is no way you can duplicate a family tradition I grew up with most of the people from "AW" and so did my children .

And as of Friday our soap opera days are over.......

OH AND YOUR BIKINI CLAD BUNCH ON SUNSET BEACH WASN'T ENOUGH TO GET MY KIDS ATTENTION ....

  • Another World was a part of my day when it was finally time for me to relax and unwind. I was twenty one years old and a new mother in 1964 when it came on and the only episodes I missed were when some murderer or cheater took over the airways. From the time I got my first VCR, I taped it every day so no matter what I was doing, I could have my time to relax and unwind. I am so sad that the show is gone. I thank everyone on Another World for being an important and constant part of my life for thirty five years and wish you all the best ever.

  • I loved Another world. It was one of the soaps I watched daily and it upset me when they canceled the show. I like Sunset beach too but Another World has been the soap that I have watched for as long as I can remember. Another World's sense seemed to be some what realistic instead of totally crazy. I am going to miss not being able to watch it every day.

  • I will really miss Another World. I work every day, but I tape each episode. I started watching AW in 1972 and I remember lots of the old characters, Steven Frame, Janice Frame, Rachel's mom Ada, Mitch, Mac Corey, Iris, Liz Mathews and her family and so on. Another World was one of the more realistic type soaps and not like the phony Days of Our Lives which use to be a good soap also until every one died and came back to life. That's when I stopped watching Days. Another World was a great soap until that stupid episode of Jordan Stark. Also why didn't you use any of AW's actors in your new soap?

Well, NBC has lost a fan, it is CBS from now on.
    Sarah

  • If there is anything I can do to help save another world I am probably too late. I just saw the last episode today. I was saddened to see the program end. I called my mother to tell her it was going off the air, and to watch the last show. She was upset as well. I realise they must compete against other competitive programs, but AW was finally taking off this summer. I will admit that it was becoming a little unbelievable with Jordan, but now with Cass getting married things were looking up. Vicky finally got pregnant. Some of these characters have aged before me. Now what? Say goodbye. If we must. It really wasn't made known to viewers that it was ending. I only found out the other day at work. Very disheartening.--Debbie

  • Hi I have watched Another World for a very long time. I was shocked to hear it was going off the air. I remember when I was a little girl and I would go to summer camp for a weekand for that week I would have my Grandma tape every day so I wouldn't miss it. I can still remember the old beginning of the AW with all the circles. I would like to wish all the cast all the best for whatever they do next.

    It was an awesome show!
    Jodi

  • I've watched this show for 25 years. I can't beleive that it's coming to an end. My hats off to the entire crew for a truly enjoyable run. You'll be sorely missed.- Rollin

  • I have been watching Another World since its debut (35 years ago). I think of all of the cast members as my family. I have laughed with them & cried with them. I have mourned with them and rejoyced with them. I will miss them terribly. I can't believe that a network would rather bring on a new/untested show than to keep working on one that has held viewers attention for 35 years. There are certainly more "baby boomers" that grew up with Another World, watching soaps today than the young people that may or may not be interested in watching Passions.

    This really stinks.

  • Is it true that you are going off the air? I am upset. I have been watching Another world for over 20 years. I love the show. I never missed an episode. I have enjoyed watching Another world and will miss it alot. I really wish you would keep it on the air. Thank you for asking for my thoughts. Please take it into consideration.
    Susan

  • I have been watching Another World for about 33 out of their 35 years being on TV. I remember when the music made the soaps feel like real life. I started watching as a teenager, and have been "hooked" ever since. I hate to see it go, but I guess it is time. This is one of two shows that I have allowed myself to look at for these many years. I remember Pat, John, Liz, etc. They were all a good cast. I want to congratulate the old and new cast on a job well done.
    Thank you for your time.

  • I started watching Another World in 1970 and it has been a major part of my life ever since. I thought it was sad when they cancelled Texas and Santa Barbara but it doesn't compare to this sadness. I will miss the whole cast and I wish them luck in whatever they do.

    Goodbye my friends.
    Ann

  • I HAVE WATCH THIS SHOW SNICE I WAS IN 5TH GRADE AND IT HAS MEANT ALOT TO ME. I AM VERY SORRY TO SEE THIS GO I THINK THEY COULD HAVE TAKEN DAYS OFF.DAYS IS TO SLOW AND THE STORY LINES ARE ALWAYS THE SAME.ANOTHER WORLD TRY TO MAKE IT A GOOD SHOW AND IT WAS.I LOVE THIS SHOW,AND IT WAS A WAY TO TAKE A BREAK AND RELAX NOW THERE IS NOTHING.I WILL REALLY MISS THIS SHOW AND NOW I WILL WATCH NOTHING TO DO WITH SOAPS.

  • I live in Great Britain -where AW was canceled around this time last year. I think it's a shame how so many good American soaps have been canceled in England over the last few months. Here in England, watching only a couple of AW's episodes was like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual Australian rubbish that stations like the BBC (which has really gone downhill recently) like to import. AW had all the qualities of a popular soap, and I think that the show should be continued on another network at least.

  • I am going to miss AW very much. I Would however like to thank (?) the net work for freeing up my afternoon. I have faithfully watched Days and AW for years and taped so I wouldn't miss it if I had to be gone. Iv'e even stayed on to watch Sunset Beach. Well Now as soon as Days is off I will either turn to and other net work or turn on the radio. I also will only need to tape 1 hour when I have to be gone in the after noon. I hope all other AW fans will turn off NBC also.

  • I've been among the loyal fans for the full 35 years of AW. Among all the ups and downs of REAL life, AW was always there...a continuity. It was a fried, an escape and sometimes the only reason I had to indulge in a well deserved laugh or overdue cry. I am ashamed that we live in a country that is dicted by money mongers who would sell out in favor of hoping for a new teen audience. Rest assured I will no longer watch ANYTHING NBC has to offer and hoping that the AW cast will be picked up by the Soap Channel and continued...and to the cast,

    My Love and Thanks Always

  • I have watched this show since the first day it started and I feel like I am losing a part of my family. Why is the younger generation so much more important that us baby boomers? I will never watch Passions!!!!-- Evelyn

  • Another World has been my favorite soap for over thirty years!!!!! My world will come to an end when it goes off the air!!! It feels like a death in the family. I really love the way it is all coming together the last few weeks. I can't believe NBC would take an old wonderful show off to put on a younger show.......Russell

  • Don't let it END!!! A few of my friends and myself will miss AW, we have watched for years, and don't want you to take it off the air. Also we really like the way things are going lately, wish you could keep up the great work. The only problem, I believe with the show is when it was being shown on the air, the time slot was all wrong. Sorry to see it END............Brenda

  • l love another world and now its going off the air and im now watching one life to live and its the best soap opera on the air.... lisa m.

  • I must be among the thousands and thousands who shake their heads in disbelief in the decisions made by 'management'! I believe a very poor decision has been made to take Another World off the air. I'm certain any new show will last a few years and be gone - with none of the history, character or companionship that AW has provided so richly. I think I first started watching AW about 20+ years ago. In the past 7 years I have renewed my commitment to it and it has become an hour of sheer luxury and enjoyment for me. I've tried watching other shows only to find my interest and attention waned quickly. I will not be watching the other soaps this channel offers. Why waste the time with a network that doesn't value time and tradition? To the actors who have become family -- you have been wonderful!!

I wish you all the best and will miss you dearly

  • Saying goodbye to Another World will be like saying goodbye to family. After years of faithful viewing, the show has become as much a part of my day as sleeping and eating. I wish the powers that be at NBC would come to their senses before they make such a huge mistake. This is one show I'm going to miss greatly.

Thanks for years of wonderful stories.

  • I have been watching Another World for the past 25 year. I have recorded it if I wasn't home but never missed a show. The only show I missed is the ones that where interrupted by the new and that upset me. I really hate to see it go off the air. I think that is a very big mistake.

  • I have been watching Another World for at least 20 years and I love it!!! I can not believe that you would take such a wonderful show and destroy it. It has been a part of my family for as long as I can remember.

    Thanks

  • I hope that the cancellation of Another World comes back to bite the butts of those who made that final decision. No offense to Sunset Beach, but lets get real. They chose to cancel a show that has been on the air for "35" years over a show thats been on for what? "2-3" years. I personally hope that PASSIONS flops just to prove to those who made this happen " YOU SHOULD NOT FIX SOMETHING THAT NOT BROKEN ". Another World was something I looked forward to watching daily, taped of course, but it was part of my every day.

A Loyal fan of Another World for "10" years.

  • I don't even know where to begin. I first want to say I LOVE you guys on ANOTHER WORLD. You are the greatest and have been for 35 years of my life. I can remember , almost from the beginning when I loved being sick and able to stay home from school so I could watch the soaps with my mom.

Through the years I have grown to love (or hate) each of you on the show. I have laughed, cried, loved, hated, been happy, been sad, mourned, been afraid and any other emotion I forgot, with all of you. You have been my friends when I felt like I was alone. I have followed the many, many great things that each of you do on your own through the Soap Opera Digest and any other source I could get my hands on.

I want to wish each and every one of you the very best. My love, thoughts and prayers go with you. I will be watching for you on the tube. And last but not least SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on the network for cancelling one of the greatest soaps to ever hit the air.

    Good Luck and God Bless,
    A Devoted Fan

  • I have been watching "Another World" for a few years and I`ve really enjoyed it alot. I am upset that it is going off the air after 35 years. Last year "All My Children" went off the air on my channel. So I figured I would just watch Another World. Know it`s going off the air. Please don`t cancel it.

  • ANOTHER WORLD HAS BEEN A PART OF MY LIFE SINCE I WAS OLD ENOUGH TO WATCH SOAPS. I THINK TAKING IT OFF THE AIR IS A MAJOR MISTAKE AND THE NETWORK WILL BE SORRY. I REFUSE TO WATCH ANY SOAPS ON THIS NETWORK (NBC) FROM NOW ON.

  • I've have always enjoyed watching Another World, after a while you feel like the people are a part of your family. Everyone will be missed very much. Hope the best to you all. The story lines were always something you could relate to, I like that about your show.
    Your writers are the best.!!!!!!

  • I feel sad because a tv show with such rich history is coming to an end after 35 years. While Another World has had it troubling times over the years, find me a show that has not...My feeling is that this tv show was a soap opera within a soap opera meaning that there was so much turmoil behind the scenes that this show never had the chance to enter into the homes of many would be fans nor retain many of the old ones that it had from years ago. I will not dwell, its time to move on as im sure so many of the wonderfully talented actors and actresses who have entertained us with a style and class like no other will soon do.....So long Jake, Vicki, Cass, Lila, Paulina, Joe, Donna, Marley, Amanda, Matt, Felicia, Josie, Gary, Cameron, Carl.....and so many other wonderful characters, and last but not least...the one and only Rachel Cory......
    Thankyou...........
