Susan Lucci Gets Key to NYC

NEW YORK (AP) _ Presidents and poets. Ballerinas and baseball players. Cops and opera singers.

And now, Susan Lucci.

On Thursday, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani presented the soap star with the key to the city after she finally won the daytime Emmy Award for best actress.

Lucci, who plays Erica Kane on ABC's ``All My Children,'' won the Emmy last week after losing the prize in 18 previous nominations.

Dressed in a red spaghetti-strap dress, Lucci said she suspected all along that winning was better than losing.

``I somehow instinctively knew it would be much better to win,'' she said.
