That's the concept behind a new soap being developed by ABC called "Day by Day," which would be set behind the scenes at a daytime talk show. According to a source familiar with the project from producer Nancy Stern, the talk show on the soap would be booked with "real guests with real problems." The talk show portion would be played out, unscripted, in front of an actual audience. The storylines on "Day by Day" would take place behind the scenes at the talk show, focusing on the lives and loves of the host and people who put on the program.
